Arcane Lineage Ranger Build

The Orderly bow fork. Dodge for damage, stack Speed, and stop treating Ranger like a town Thief.

Ranger Build

Ranger is the Super Class people search after they see a bow overlay and assume it is a beginner kit. It is not. Ranger is the Orderly Westwood fork that still uses a dagger for some strings and a soul-bow for the rest. Rogue used to sit in that Orderly dagger seat; Ranger took it, and Rogue went Neutral. This page is the 2026 build sheet. Pair it with the Super Class roster, the loadouts page, and the Super Class tier list.

You still buy a dagger in Caldera and unlock Thief first. There is no Ranger handshake at level 5. The class unlock guide and the combat QTE guide are the homework. Yellow is the whole class: Verdant Archer pays you for dodging.

What Ranger actually does

Ranger is a ranged Nature kit with a dodge engine. Community trainers still list four actives and one passive:

  • Flourish — charge the bow one turn, then fire a spread. Nature damage. Scales with Arcane and Speed. High cooldown. This is the screenshot move, not the opener every turn.
  • Stinger — dagger thrust, then a backflip of coated arrows. The first hit is the setup. Later mastery can hang Sundered on that stab.
  • Perennial Canopy — the lingering Nature pressure. Cost and per-turn numbers have moved in patches; Trello wins. It is why Spiked Steel Ball talk exists.
  • Enrichment — a regen and sustain blessing. Support-shaped, not a Paladin bubble.
  • Verdant Archer (passive) — dodge and you get a damage and Speed buff. Strike can scale off Arcane. This is why Speed Ranger is a lifestyle and not a meme.

If you cannot hit yellow on field packs, Ranger is a worse Thief. Stay Martial Artist until the bar is boring.

Trainer and alignment

The live handshake is Orkin in Westwood, next to the target range behind the Way of Life pillar. Community clips still call the slime-looking trainer with non-slime hair. Left Ctrl first. Confirm the tile on the Ultimate Trello the day you walk — Grove art has moved rooms before.

Ranger wants Orderly. If your run has been a murder streak, this room will not teach you. Read alignment before you farm the last levels. Skill gold is a pile (community sheets still quote hundreds per skill). Do not walk there broke.

Stat sheets that actually clear

Two honest 2026 sheets keep showing up in clears:

SheetPrimarySecondaryWho it is for
Speed StultusSpeedArcaneDodge engine, crit, Godspeed clips
Arcane RangerArcaneSpeedRanged multiplier, Flourish and Canopy

Stultus is the usual race because Speed becomes damage and crit chance. Full Speed with a splash of Endurance is the common first life. Community MV sheets still post numbers like 95 Arcane / 100 Speed or 10 Endurance / the rest Speed. Do not copy a 185 Speed paste onto a race that does not convert Speed into damage.

Arcane is not optional flavor. Ranger has a ranged multiplier. A Stultus with zero Arcane still shoots. A Stultus with Arcane plus crit math shoots twice. Early lives still buy Endurance before you screenshot Godspeed. The stat planner exists so you do not dump nine points into Luck because a Rogue video said so.

Mastery 0-1-2 (and the MV variant)

Super Class mastery is a left-middle-right tree. Talk to the trainer and pick “I want to know more about me.” Community shorthand writes three digits: 0-1-2 means skip left, take the middle line, take both right nodes. You only get three breakthroughs.

Current public advice:

  • 0-1-2 — the default. Perennial Canopy uptime plus auto-dodge tools for slams you cannot yellow.
  • 1-0-2 — the Metrom’s Vessel / solo-MV variant when the left Nature’s Wrath line matters more than the middle Lightspeed line.

Node names still circulating: Nature’s Wrath (bigger Verdant damage), Flourish Proficiency (aggro and Speed buffs), Lightspeed (dodge or crit grants stacking auto-dodge), Stinger Proficiency (Sundered on the stab), Enrichment Proficiency, Perennial Canopy Proficiency. Live tooltips move. The trainer card wins.

Armor, weapon, enchant, artifact

Armor: Rogue Hunter, the Rogue-desk set from the desert. It is the Speed-percent set. Other kits look cooler. This one feeds Verdant Archer.

Weapon: a dagger you can actually obtain. Community MV pastes still name Icerind Sai, mana daggers, Sund dagger for defense shred, or Dragon-set daggers when Inferno is the enchant. Shards on those weapons often read 3 Shattering / 2 Empowering / 2 Voltaic. If you cannot farm that string, a clean dagger you will actually upgrade beats a spreadsheet you cannot drop.

Enchant: Frosted or Inferno are the damage defaults. Bless if you wanted sustain more than a proc. Lifesong is a support enchant — Ranger is usually the one being supported. Full obtain steps sit on enchants.

Artifact: Stellion Core while you stay near full HP. Swap toward Darksigil or a Chaos Orb for Metrom’s Vessel when the Core never turns on. Relic rules live on artifacts.

Four gear slots that actually matter

Ranger wants Speed, Nature, and cooldown more than a fourth cosmetic. The gear page is the census. The Ranger shortlist:

  • Forest Charm — Nature damage on Flourish and Canopy.
  • Yar’thul’s Wrath — the dragon stamp most Speed sheets still keep.
  • Expedite Anklet — Godspeed. This is the clip engine.
  • Crystal Sphere, Spiked Steel Ball (Canopy proc), Shattered Clock Hand (cooldowns), Coagulated Finger Nail (nerfed, still named in old pastes).

Do not vendor unidentified Grove drops before the identifier NPC. A crit roll can beat a named charm you already have.

Covenant, mark, subclass

Way of Life or Church of Raphion are the usual Ranger covenants. Regen and Bless keep the Core online. Blades of the World is a gold hideout, not a bow hideout. You cannot leave without a wipe — covenants first.

Astra is the mark people mention for solo Metrom. Party Ranger can skip it. Marks are late identity, not a town errand. See marks.

Subclass is flexible. Alchemist if you want potions and solo pressure. Musician / Bard if the party needed a kit more than another flask. Ranger does not need Beastmaster to exist.

When not to play Ranger

  • You still miss yellow. The passive is a dodge tax, not a participation trophy.
  • You wanted Assassin because a thumbnail said “bow assassin.” Different fork. Different job.
  • Your party has three Rangers and zero slam holders. Read the party guide.
  • You have not unlocked Thief yet. Buy the dagger. Talk to the town trainer. Then walk to Westwood.

After the sheet makes sense, farm a boss that actually drops the kit: Yar’thul for Wrath and Perforator talk, Thorian for Core and Darksigil, Metrom’s Vessel for the seat this build is aiming at. Codes still do not exist. Trials multiply Soul Points when yellow is already a habit.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How do I unlock Ranger in Arcane Lineage?

Unlock Thief with a dagger first, stay Orderly, then talk to Orkin in Westwood by the target range behind the Way of Life pillar.

What is the best Ranger race?

Stultus is the usual Speed-into-damage pick. Confirm the live racial card before you spend a Lineage Shard.

What does mastery 0-1-2 mean?

Left, middle, right breakthrough counts. 0-1-2 skips the left line and takes middle plus both right nodes. 1-0-2 is the common Metrom variant.

Is Ranger good for beginners?

No. It pays you for dodging. Learn yellow on Martial Artist or Warrior, then walk to Westwood.
