Arcane Lineage Races
Your lineage is a starting modifier, not a destiny. Here is how the roll, the slot, and the shard actually work.
Races — also called lineages — set the stats you spawn with and a passive you did not choose. Hair still comes from your Roblox avatar; the lineage recolors it. This page is the rules. The power argument lives on the race tier list. The reroll item lives on the Lineage Shard guide.
How you get a race
- First spawn: random, with uneven odds. Common lineages appear often. Rare ones do not.
- Extra soul slot: about 200 Robux. Keeps the old character. Lets you roll again.
- Lineage Shard: gold and loot path. Wipes a level 10+ character and rolls a new lineage.
- Quest lineages: some names are not on the reroll table. They want a specific quest. If a patch adds one, the Trello will say so before a random video does.
We will not print a fake list of fourteen names with made-up percentages. Those tables rot. Open Trello for the live census. Use this page for the decisions the census does not make for you.
What a race actually changes
Starting points land in Strength, Arcane, Endurance, Speed, or Luck. A magic-leaning roll wants a staff. A body-leaning roll wants a sword, spear, or cestus. A flexible roll wants whatever class you will play for ten levels.
Passives are the sharper hook. Some help gold. Some help blocks. Some help a school of magic. None of them press Space. If you cannot dodge, the rarest lineage in the game is still a corpse with a lore name.
How to read the name you rolled
Press B. Look at the corner. That string is your lineage. Then ask only three questions:
- Does this want Arcane or Strength?
- Does the passive still work if I Guard?
- Do I already love a class that disagrees?
If the answers are “either,” “yes,” and “no,” keep it. If the answers are “the opposite of my class,” “no,” and “yes I already bought the weapon,” you are in shard territory — after level 10, after you can reclear, after you read the tier list.
Seasonal names
Ophimar is a later, searchable lineage with its own creator guides. Treat named seasonal races as patch content. The Withered Grove notes are where we will mention a new lineage if it changes reroll advice. Chasing a name you saw once in a title card is how people wipe a Paladin for a costume.
Pairing cheat sheet
- Magic lineage → Wizard, then Necromancer or Elementalist.
- Body lineage → Warrior or Martial Artist, then Paladin or Monk if you like your friends.
- Gold or speed lineage → Thief is the obvious joke and often the correct one.
- Flexible → pick from the class picker with your brain, not your FOMO.
The longer version of that sheet is best class for every race. The first-ten-levels dump is loadouts.
Races are the first sentence of a character. Classes are the plot. QTEs are the editor. Do not let the first sentence delete the book.\n\n## When to keep a mediocre roll\n\nMost first lives should keep the lineage they spawned. A flexible or slightly off-stat race still lets you learn yellow, buy a weapon, and bank Soul Tree health. Wiping at level 10 because a thumbnail called your name C-tier is how people never reach a Super Class. Keep the roll if you can name a Base Class you will actually play for ten levels. Shard later, after the getting started loop is boring.\n\nIf two friends already cover tank and heal, a magic-leaning race you almost rerolled becomes a Wizard seat. If you are the only body in the party, do not shard into a glass lineage just because a creator called it rare. Party shape beats census envy. That is the whole pairing argument, restated without a fake percentage table.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Can I choose my race at the start?
No. The first race is random. Extra slots cost Robux. Shards reroll a level 10+ character and wipe it.
Does my Roblox avatar change the race?
It changes the hairstyle. The lineage still owns the hair color and the stats.
Where is the full list of race names?
On the official Trello. We rank roles here so a stale name table cannot send you into a bad wipe.
