Arcane Lineage Class Tier List

Base Class ranks for a first character — Super Class ceiling is a bonus, not the whole grade.

Class Tier List

This class tier list answers the weapon-shop question: which Base Class should you buy at level 5 if you want the run to last. Super Class names sit in parentheses so you can see the fork without pretending you already have it. For the later rank-up, open the Super Class list. For skills, open the roster.

Ranks assume Hard mode, a party of at least two, and a player who has read the combat guide once.

S — you will live long enough to learn the game

Martial Artist (Monk / Darkwraith). Cestus damage, better blocks, and a kit that still works when you Guard a slam you have never seen. Monk is the holy fork; Darkwraith is the selfish one. Either way the Base Class is the best teacher in the game.

Warrior (Berserker / Paladin). Sword passives, a stun chance on Pommel Strike, and Double Slash when you need a simple turn. Paladin is the party magnet. Berserker is the “I will hit it until it stops” fork. New players should take Warrior if they want to stand in front on purpose.

A — wins fights that last more than three turns

Slayer (Impaler / Saint). Poison from Serpent Strike plus a triple hit. Swift Fighter rewards people who already dodge. If yellow is still random, Slayer feels like a glass spear. If yellow is clean, Slayer feels like a boss melt. Saint is the support-shaped fork; Impaler is the hole-puncher.

Thief (Assassin / Rogue). Bleed, blind, extra gold, faster run. Pocket Sand is a party button. Stab is a selfish one. Thief prints the gold that buys the next weapon and the next shard. It does not print hit points. Pair it with a tank or accept that you are the one eating slams when Coward is not on your bar — because it is not. That trait belongs to Wizard.

B — high ceiling, expensive tuition

Wizard (Necromancer / Elementalist). Magic Missile is a second minigame. Scholar Training lets you use scrolls. Coward makes you a worse tank and a better backliner. If you solo, Wizard is a highlight clip waiting to become a gravestone. If you party, Wizard is the reason a boss dies on the correct turn. Take it when you already like the bar, not as a way to avoid the bar.

Situational notes

A magic-leaning race can drag Wizard into A and shove Martial Artist down. A body-leaning race does the opposite. Check the race list before you treat these letters as destiny. The class picker exists for that pairing.

Older pages mention Musician, Beastmaster, and Alchemist. If those trainers are live on your shard, treat them as unranked until you have a party sample. Do not take a mystery kit because a 2024 article listed it.

How to argue with this list

If your Berserker solos content we called party-only, you are the sample, not the median. If your Wizard never dies, you do not miss yellow. Publish a vod, not a comment. We retune after updates, not after one clip.

Meanwhile, buy the weapon, talk to the trainer, and take Daze. Tier letters do not dodge for you.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the best Arcane Lineage class right now?

For a first character, Martial Artist or Warrior. They forgive mistakes. Wizard is the best when you already play well and have a party.

Is Thief bad?

No. Thief is A-tier utility and gold. It is bad at being the only person in the instance.

Should I pick based on Super Class?

Glance at the fork, then pick the Base you will enjoy for ten levels. A Super Class you never reach is not a rank.
