Arcane Lineage Best Class for Every Race

Match the lineage you actually rolled to a Base Class you will play for ten levels.

Best Class for Every Race

Search results for “best class for every race” in Arcane Lineage are a graveyard of stale name tables. Creators film a snapshot, a Grove patch moves a passive, and the thumbnail stays. This page is the decision guide. It will not invent a census of fourteen lineages with made-up percentages. Open the Ultimate Trello for the live name list. Use the rules here so a video from last season does not spend your Lineage Shard.

The pairing is three layers: the race lean, the Base Class weapon, and the Super Class you can actually reach. Skip any layer and you get a Paladin who cannot stand in front or a Wizard who is the only body in the room.

Read the race before you buy a weapon

Press B. The string in the corner is the lineage. Then ask only four questions:

  1. Do the starting points want Arcane or Strength?
  2. Does the passive still work if you Guard?
  3. Does the passive want long fights (poison, bleed, gold) or short ones (burst, stun)?
  4. Do you already love a class that disagrees?

If the answers are “either,” “yes,” “either,” and “no,” keep the roll and pick a class you will play. If the answers are “the opposite of my class,” “no,” “the opposite of my class,” and “yes I already bought the staff,” you are in shard territory — after level 10, after you can reclear, after you read the race overview.

Your Roblox avatar only changes the hairstyle. The lineage still owns the hair color and the stats. Do not reroll because the hair is ugly.

Pairing by lean, not by a rotting table

Treat every named lineage as one of four leans. Confirm the lean on Trello the day you play. Ophimar-style seasonal names belong to Withered Grove and can leave the reroll table.

Magic lean. Starting Arcane, a scholar or caster passive, or anything that feeds scrolls. Buy the staff. Play Wizard. Fork Necromancer or Elementalist. Do not “fix” a magic lineage by starving Endurance so the Missile number looks bigger in town.

Body lean. Starting Strength or Endurance, a block or weapon passive. Buy the sword, spear, or cestus. Warrior and Martial Artist are the honest first lives. Slayer is the later life, after yellow is boring. Paladin and Monk are the party forks. Berserker, Impaler, and Darkwraith are the selfish forks.

Gold or speed lean. A passive that prints gold, run speed, or encounter luck. Thief is the obvious joke and often the correct one. You still need Endurance. Pocket Sand does not dodge a slam.

Flexible lean. Even stats, a passive that does not care which bar you feed. This is the best first roll in the game. Open the class picker and pick the weapon you will actually swing for ten levels. Flexible is how people reach a Super Class instead of wiping for a thumbnail.

Class-first version of the same argument

If you already know the class, flip the sheet.

  • Warrior wants a body or flexible lineage. A magic roll can still Guard, but Pommel Strike will tickle until you overpay Strength.
  • Thief wants gold, speed, or flexible. A pure Strength brick still blinds. A pure Arcane brick still blinds. Neither brick wants to be the slam magnet.
  • Slayer wants body or flexible and a player who already hits yellow. Poison is a long-fight tax. A glass magic roll into Impaler is a clip, not a plan.
  • Martial Artist wants almost anything. That is why the class tier list keeps it on the top row for a first character. Endure plus Iron Body forgive a bad roll.
  • Wizard wants magic or flexible plus a party. Coward only helps if someone else exists. Solo Wizard on a body lineage is two timing bars and none of the health.

The loadouts page turns those sentences into a first-ten-levels stat dump. The builds page is the shorter version.

Super Class is a second pairing

Around level 15 you walk to a second trainer. Alignment can silence the room. The Super Class roster names the ten common titles. The alignment guide is the gate. Do not pick Paladin on a lineage you already decided to shard. Do not pick Necromancer because a video said your race “goes mage” if you cannot find a party.

Party shape beats census envy. If two friends already cover tank and heal, a magic-leaning race you almost rerolled becomes a Wizard seat. If you are the only body in the group, do not shard into a glass lineage just because a creator called it rare.

When a video is useful

A real pairing video is useful for animation, room layout, and a snapshot of what one creator thought that week. It is not a patch note. Prefer clips that still say Withered Grove. Ignore any row that names a lineage Trello no longer lists. We embed one current pairing guide in the middle of this page. We will not embed three copies of the same advice.

If the video and this page disagree, Trello plus your B menu win. If Trello and a Discord pin disagree, Discord wins. If a thumbnail promises an S-tier name you cannot roll, it is a costume, not a build.

A first-hour pairing loop

  1. Spawn. Read B. Name the lean.
  2. Leave Normal. Hard pays the gold that buys the weapon.
  3. Take Daze from Yorn. Daze is not a class.
  4. Buy the matching starter weapon upstairs in Caldera Town. The class unlock guide is the shop walk.
  5. Spend the first Essence dump into Endurance and the damage stat the lean wants.
  6. Keep the roll unless the passive actively fights the kit. Shard later.

That loop survives Grove art, Dark and Light title cards, and whatever the rewrite watch is rumoring this month. The race is the first sentence. The class is the plot. Yellow is the editor. Do not let a rotting table delete the book.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the best class for every race in Arcane Lineage?

There is no frozen table. Match magic leans to Wizard, body leans to Warrior or Martial Artist, gold leans to Thief, and flexible rolls to the class you will actually play.

Should I reroll if my race does not match a YouTube row?

No. Confirm the live passive on Trello. Keep a flexible or slightly off roll until you can reclear after a shard wipe.

Is Martial Artist safe on any race?

It is the most forgiving first Base Class. A magic-leaning Martial Artist still lives. A body-leaning Wizard often does not.

Do Super Class pairings change the Base Class choice?

Only if you already know you can reach that trainer. Buy the weapon you will play for ten levels, then read alignment before the fork.
