Arcane Lineage Race Tier List
Rank the job your lineage does, then check Trello for the live name and odds. Do not reroll off a vibe.
Race tier lists go rotten because names, odds, and seasonal lineages move. This page ranks roles, not a fan-fiction census. For how rerolls work, use the Lineage Shard guide. For the current name table, use the Trello. For playstyle pairing, use the races overview.
You roll a race at spawn. Extra soul slots cost 200 Robux. Shards wipe a level 10+ character. Those three facts matter more than any letter we print here.
S — the roll you keep
Flexible lineages. Starting stats that do not hate either Strength or Arcane, plus a passive that still works if you Guard. If your first roll feels like this, do not shard it because a video yelled a different name. Play the class. Earn the Super Class. Then decide.
Body lineages on physical classes. Extra toughness or Strength-shaped passives on Warrior, Martial Artist, or Slayer. These are the rolls that make the class tier list look conservative. You live through the slam you deserved to die to.
A — keep if it matches the weapon
Magic lineages on Wizard. Extra Arcane or scholar-shaped passives make Missile and later Necromancer / Elementalist feel intended. The same roll on a cestus is a joke. If you already bought a staff, this is S. If you already bought a sword, this is a shard candidate.
Gold and utility lineages. Passives that echo Thief’s economy or field speed. They do not win a QTE. They buy the potion that lets you take another QTE. A-tier in a party, B-tier if you are the tank.
B — playable, not a reroll emergency
Off-stat rolls. A magic-leaning body on a spear, or a heavy body on a staff. You can finish the game. You will feel the tax on every level-up. Use the stat calculator to over-invest in the missing bar instead of panic-sharding at level 11.
C — shard after you can reclear
Anti-synergy plus a fragile passive. If the lineage lowers the one thing your class needs and you already dislike the kit, wait until you can reclear early bosses, then shard. Do not wipe a level 10 who still misses yellow. That player needs the combat guide, not a new hair color.
Seasonal callout: Ophimar
Ophimar showed up as a real, searchable lineage in later updates, with creator guides and boss pairings attached. Treat it as a named exception: if a patch notes Ophimar, read the Withered Grove page and the live Trello card before you spend a shard chasing it. Seasonal races are how stale name tables get people killed.
How to use this list in a session
- Open B and read the race you actually have.
- Decide whether it is flexible, body, magic, or anti-synergy.
- Pick the class that agrees.
- Only open the shard farm if you landed in C and you can reclear.
A race is a starting modifier. It is not a personality. The QTE does not care what the Trello named you.\n\nIf a friend says your roll is trash before you have a class, they are ranking a name, not a kit. Buy the weapon first. Rank the lineage after three slime packs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What is the best race in Arcane Lineage?
The best race is the one that matches your class and does not fight your stats. Live names and odds belong on Trello, not in a frozen S-tier screenshot.
Should I reroll my first race?
Only after level 10, only if the passive fights your class, and only if you can reclear early bosses. Most first rolls are playable.
Where is the full race name list?
On the official Trello and in the races overview. We refuse to invent a fake odds table that will be wrong next patch.
