How to Unlock Corruption in Arcane Lineage
The Grove quest is easy to brick. Read the dialogue routes before you spam through Moria.
Players searching “how to get Corruption” after the Withered Grove wrapper landed are not looking for flavour text. They want the new combat form: build Corrupt Power, hit 100, and fire Soul Ignition. This page is the walkthrough. It is not a leak blog. If a number on a Day-1 clip disagrees with a Discord pin, the pin wins.
Corruption sits on top of a character who already has a Base Class. It does not replace yellow. It does not replace a party. It is a second resource layer that Grove added alongside unidentified gear and a Cursed Grove zone.
What Corruption actually is
After the Grove questline, your character owns a Corruption form. Community builders list it as its own slot next to Marks, Covenants, and enchants. The loop is short on paper:
- Unlock a form through the Grove dialogue.
- Build Corrupt Power in combat.
- At 100, use Soul Ignition to transform.
- Play the form’s kit until the mark budget says stop.
The three dialogue paths that community writeups agree on are Heresy, Blasphemy, and Tyranny. Pick the path before you talk to Moria. You cannot mash through the last conversation and expect the form you wanted.
How to start the Grove questline
Start around the Seraphon portal. Walk straight until you find the NPC named Seraphon. Talk to him. He sends you to Yorn — the same Yorn who already sold you Daze. Finish that dialogue to open the Grove.
If you cannot find the zone, the Cursed Grove sits to the right of the Martial Artist trainer, near the Heaven portal. Left Ctrl icons still help. The world page is the Caldera half of that walk.
Do not rejoin mid-quest if you can help it. Day-1 Grove notes flagged rejoining as a way to make the quest look broken even when the client remembered your step. Block a session long enough to clear the important beats.
Darken Affliction and the well
Inside the Grove you will hit a camp and Felius. Talk to him to start Darken Affliction. Have a Super Class AoE ready if you are melee. The well section throws waves, not a polite 1v1.
Interact with the crank. Take the bucket. Clear about five waves. Then keep talking. After the well, collect five Grove roots from trees around the area, including the far side. This is exploration, not a hidden parkour exam.
The voice, ghosts, and Moria
A voice in your head and ghost encounters come next. If the voice teleports you back, do not assume the quest is dead. Follow the objective that asks you to report the ghosts. Near the waterfall the conversation continues until you can speak with Moria. That is the dialogue that stamps the form.
Dialogue routes — do not spam click
| Path | First | Second | Third |
|---|---|---|---|
| Heresy | Purpose | Nothing | Vengeance |
| Blasphemy | Power | Myself | War |
| Tyranny | Control | Everything | War |
Heresy is the DPS-shaped form most writeups walk first. You meditate to swap Light Wing and Dark Wing. The swap does not spend a combat turn. It does spend a Corruption Mark. Do not flicker for fun.
Light Wing builds Light Energy on hits. Dark Wing cashes that energy into crit-shaped bonuses and void-style pressure. A simple Heresy loop: Light to bank energy, Dark to spend it, then stop swapping until you have marks again. Assassin and other burst seats like this more than a Paladin who never wants to leave Guard.
Blasphemy and Tyranny are the other two stamps. Builders list them as real forms. Exact kit text still moves. Confirm the live card on Trello before you theory-craft a whole loadout around a clip from Grove day one.
Unidentified gear is part of the same patch
Grove also dropped a gear identification NPC. Enemies can drop unidentified pieces. You pay Gold to reveal stats. Higher tiers cost more. Rolls can include Endurance, Luck, crit, and other extras. Some named pieces such as Vainglory’s Locket are talked about at high tier with extra stat lines. Treat Day-1 percentages as perishable.
Community notes on early Grove drops include Lucky Horns (crit chance), Shadow Gauntlets (lifesteal-shaped), First Line Spike (crit damage), Blooming Eye (one-energy move damage, additive so it looks wild on a fresh slot), Infected Skin, and Blast Me (energy-linked and possibly bugged on day one). Farm them after you own a class, not instead of Essence.
What Corruption does not do
It does not add a redeem box. The Codes Hub is still empty. It does not make solo bosses safer. It does not replace alignment for Super Class trainers. A Heresy Assassin who still misses yellow is a Grove costume on a corpse.
If you came here from a Gynx or Lionheart search, those are later identity layers. Read how to get Gynx and the Lionheart guide after this quest is stamped, not before. A wipe race on a character who never finished Grove is how people delete a Paladin for a title card.
After the form is stamped
Go play. Build Corrupt Power on packs you already clear. Transform at 100 once, then decide whether the form matches the Super Class you already paid for. If the kit fights your fork, you have a dialogue problem, not a shard problem. Do not spend a Lineage Shard because you clicked War on the wrong line.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How do I unlock Corruption in Arcane Lineage?
Start at Seraphon, talk to Yorn, enter the Cursed Grove, finish Darken Affliction and the root fetch, then pick a dialogue path with Moria.
What dialogue unlocks Heresy?
Purpose, then Nothing, then Vengeance. Blasphemy is Power / Myself / War. Tyranny is Control / Everything / War.
What is Soul Ignition?
The transform once Corrupt Power hits 100. It is the payoff of the Grove form, not a starter skill.
Can I change Corruption later?
Treat the Moria dialogue as the stamp. Confirm any respec on Trello and Discord before you wipe a working character.
