Arcane Lineage Assassin Build

Assassin is the Super Class players search when they want a boss to melt without standing in front of it. It forks from Thief after the mid-teen trainer handshake. This page is the 2026 build sheet: which stats to feed, which subclass habits matter, and why a solo Assassin clip is not a beginner plan. You still buy a dagger in Caldera, talk to the Thief trainer, and learn yellow before you theory-craft 60 poison stacks. The getting started loop and the combat guide are not optional flavor text.

What the Assassin is for

Assassin is a debuff and burst seat. Community clips split into two honest kits:

• Luck / poison. Stack status intensity and duration. Long fights love you. Handaconda and other regen bosses hate you.
• Strength burst. Shorter “delete a bar” windows. Needs cleaner setup and usually a party that already applied Sunder or Vulnerable.

Both kits assume you can hit offensive QTEs and still dodge the yellow window. Assassin does not grant immortality. Race talk around Vadere-style scent stacks is a survival layer on top of the class, not a replacement for Guard.

Early lives still want Endurance before you greed the meme screenshot. The beginner builds page is blunt for a reason. A glass Assassin who dies on the first true stun teaches nothing about poison math.

Soul Tree: health and mending-shaped nodes first. Trials that multiply Soul Points help here — configure them on the Trials guide, not by inventing a Hard mode slider.

Subclass and party habits

Alchemist is the community default for poison Assassin. Potions and mixtures extend status pressure and can apply Vulnerable-style defense cuts that stack with gear like a Tainted Quiver’s Sunder talk. If your party already has a dedicated alchemist seat, you can stay sharper on pure damage — but most public clears still want the potion loop.

Bring a Saint or other healer when the boss applies anti-heal or long stuns. Assassin is not the meat shield. Frosty Topper-style summon talk on support seats exists so your DPS can keep stacking instead of reviving.

Gear and enchant priorities

• Weapon enchants that add DoT or burn on multi-hit strings.
• Accessories that extend range, crit, or status application.
• Chaos Orb / Dark Sigil style artifacts when the live drop table says they still own DoT builds — confirm on Trello.
• Do not vendor unidentified Grove gear before you identify it. Crit and lifesteal rolls can matter more than a pretty dagger model.

Enchants never press Space. A fully enchanted Assassin who misses yellow is still a corpse with good tooltips.

Race pairing

Flexible body and Luck-leaning lineages play poison well. Tank lineages like Gynx are usually wasted on a backline assassin unless you are running a hybrid meme. If the spawn race fights Luck and dagger play, farm a Lineage Shard after level 10 instead of forcing a Wizard passive onto a Thief fork. The best class for every race page is the pairing rules.

When not to play Assassin

• You still miss yellow on slimes. Stay Martial Artist or Warrior.
• Your group has three Assassins and zero sustain. Read the party guide.
• You wanted Lionheart or Paladin because a thumbnail said “immortal.” Different Super Class. Different job.
• You are learning Corruption and thought Soul Ignition was an Assassin skill. It is not.
